"The method used to grow plants without the use of soil is known as hydroponics. Instead of using soil, it uses mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. This field is a branch of hydroculture. Some of the techniques used in hydroponics are deep water, passive sub-irrigation, fogponics, continuous flow solution, static solution, aeroponics and ebb and flow sub-irrigation. Different mediums are suited for the use of different techniques. Hydroponics is an upcoming field of science that has undergone rapid development over the past few decades.
