Effects of Organic Phosporus and Potassium source for growth and yield of Cucumber (Cucumis salivus L.) - Aurora ASCOT 2023 - xiii, 48 pages : colored illustrations.
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Science).
Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), commonly called pipino belongs to the Cucurbitaceæ plant family and is extensively cultivated due to its crispiness, delectable taste, low-calorie content, and rich nutritional profile. This research was conducted in Barangay Sapangkawayan DIpaculao Aurora, to investigate the impact of organic phosphorus and potassium sources on the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) The parameters such as plant height, stem diameter, number of days to flowers, number of fruits, length of fruits, and the weight of fruits were assessed. The experimental design comprised four treatments replicated three times the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), with significance among treatments determined through Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
The experimental treatments included T1, which involved no application; T2 where two tablespoons of Calphos were mixed with 500ml of water and combined with two tablespoons of fermented fruit juice diluted in 500ml of water; T3 consisting of the application of 3 tablespoons of Calphos mixed with 500ml of water and three tablespoons of fermented fruit juice diluted in 500ml of water; T4 which entailed the application of 4 tablespoons of Calphos mixed with 500ml of water, along with four tablespoons of fermented fruit juice diluted in 500ml of water. Despite not influencing the ANOVA results, the study's findings revealed that T1 exhibited the highest average values for the length and weight of fruits. T2 demonstrated the highest average values for stem diameter, while T3 recorded the highest averages for plant height and the number of days to flowers. T4 displayed the highest average values for the number of fruits.
