Fish Amino Acid Application on Pigmented Corn (Zea maya L.) Variety - Aurora ASCOT 2023 - xii, 43 pages : colored illustrations.
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Science)
The research conducted in Purok 5, Barangay Uno Maria Aurora, at Montero farm from April to June 2023 focused on applying fish amino acid on a pigmented corn variety (Zea maya L.). The objective was to assess the impact of the fish amino acid application on the growth and yield of pigmented corn, considering various parameters including days from sowing to maturity, plant height (cm), number of leaves, ear length (cm), ear diameter (cm), ear weight (kg) and total yield (kg)
Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used with four treatments, each replicated three times. The treatments consisted of T1 (control with no fish amino acid application), T2 (120ml of fish amino acid: 5 liters of water), T3 (250ml of fish amino acid: 5 liters of water), and T4 (180ml of fish amino acid: 5 liters of water).
Result from the study indicated that T4 exhibited highly significant outcomes in terms of days from sowing to maturity, ear length, and ear diameter. However, according to the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), there was no significant difference among all treatments regarding plant height (cm), number of leaves, ear weight (kg), and total yield (kg). The findings suggest that the optimal level for fish amino acid application is 180 ml mixed with 5 liters of water.
