Summary, etc Abstract<br/><br/>This study focused on determining the positive and negative consequences of Diapitan Resources Development Corporation (DRDC) Project in Mangrove forests of Barangay Masagana, Dilasag, Aurora. Also, it shows the importance of mangrove forest in local communities in terms of their livelihood and skills in agriculture. The research design used by the researchers to convey accurate data was descriptive method. This is because the respondents of the study are the residents of Barangay, Masagana specifically those who works in the project at the age of 48 and above. In gathering data, the researchers used a questionnaire checklist. Extinction of animal species in the mangrove area have the highest weighted mean of 3.96. The most beneficial effects of project is having enough income have the highest weighted mean of 3.16. Creating habitat for threatened species of mangrove in the area have the highest weighted mean of? The majority of respondents are between the ages of 51 and 55, most of them are married women, and most of them works as housewives. Also, majority of the respondents have only completed high school. The respondents concurred that the initiative had good effects on their way of life because it significantly improved by providing them enough money to cover their basic necessities. The project's unfavorable effects include the extinction of animal species in the mangrove ecosystem, which serves as a nursery and shelter for fish, birds, and marine life. To maintain a healthy mangrove forest and remove debris that clogs every pathway, the majority of respondents are interested in participating in coastal clean-up drives.
