Summary, etc | This study aimed to determine the application of nitrogenous plant extract on the growth and yield performance of sweet pepper which was conducted from April to July 2023 at Aurora State College of Technology, Bazal Campus, Maria Aurora, Aurora.
There were four treatments and three replication arranged in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The treatments were as follows: Treatment 1 (control, Treatment 2 (mungbean leaf extract), Treatment 3 (kakawate leaf extract) and Treatment 4 (river tamarind leaf extract),
Using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT), the results show that there were no significant differences on its growth in terms of plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, and days to first flower. Moreover, it shows that there were no significant differences in relation to its yield performance in terms of; number of fruits, length of fruits, diameter of fruits, and total yield. Based on the observation made, fermented plant extract and the like perform well when applied during fair weather or during sunny days; this condition contributes more on the optimum absorption of nutrients.
Furthermore, it is recommended to select the right crop for the right season as applied with botanical pesticide to avoid crop losses. Also, the rate of application may be increased depending on the crop planted. |
