| Summary, etc | The study was conducted for thirty-five (35) days to determine the growth performance of broiler chicken supplemented with young leaf extract of saba (Musa acuminata). A total of 180 heads of broiler chicks were used in the study as experimental birds.<br/>In the four treatments, the supplement was formulated as follows: T1 (pure water), T2 (20 ml young leaf extract of banana with 90 ml water), T3 (30 ml young leaf extract of banana with 970 ml water), T4 (20 ml young leaf extract of banana with 960 ml water) that was given on their 21st day until 35th day of study.<br/>Different parameters were gathered to determine the effects of young leaf extract of banana, such as the weekly weight gain of the birds, feed conversion ration, and return on investment. The study revealed that Treatment 3 has the highest weight gained, carcass weight, and feed conversion ration from week 3 to week 5, followed by Treatment 4, Treatment 1 and Treatment 2, respectively. The result found no significant effect on the weight gain from week three until week 5. |
