Summary, etc Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), is the fruit of a vine in the family Cucurbitaceae. The cucumber is usually long and cylindrical in shape, has rounded edges and can appear in various sized in addition, organic liquid fertilizer serves as manure and they increase the fertility of the soil naturally and usually applied to the plants while they are growing.
Generally, the study was conducted to determine the influence of different liquid fertilizers on the growth and yield of cucumber. Specifically, it is conducted to determine the growth performance of cucumber in terms of days to first flower emergence and days to first harvest, determine the yield performance in terms of number of fruits, fruit length, marketable yield and non-marketable yield, and determine the effects of the three different liquid fertilizers on the growth and fruit yield of cucumber.
A total of 90 plants were utilized in the study. The experimental plants were randomly distributed into three treatments and replicated three times using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The different treatments were as follows: T1 - 200 ml of rabbit manure tea + 800 ml of water, T2 - 200 ml of vermicompost tea + 800 ml of water and T3 - 200 ml of carabao manure tea + 800 ml of water. treatments were applied thrice a week and application of treatments started right after transplanting of seedlings and until the last harvest period.
The result of the study shows that among the treatments, the application of vermicompost tea has resulted significantly in terms of marketable yield. However, there was no significant result obtained in terms of days to first flower, days to first harvest, fruit length, non-marketable yield and total yield, and it has recorded the highest fruits produced. Based on the result, it was concluded that Treatment 1 and Treatment 3 had the same effect in terms of days to first harvest, while Treatment 2 showed the highest number of non-marketable yield.
