Summary, etc Generally, the study was conducted to determine the performance of oyster mushroom varieties on paper waste and rice straw substrate material. Specifically, it is conducted to determine the effect of substrate material on the growth and yield performance of oyster mushroom varieties in terms of mycelial growth, days to full mycelial colonization, days to primordial initiation, cap diameter, number of clusters produced, total yield, marketable yield, non marketable yield and biological efficiency.<br/>A total of 180 fruiting bag was utilized in the study. The experimental are was randomly distributed into four treatments and replicated three time using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The different treatments were T1 gray oyster mushroom grown on 75% of PW and 25% of RS, T2 pink oyster mushroom grown 75% of PW and 25% of RS, T3 yellow oyster mushroom grown on 75% of PW and 25% of RS, and T4 white oyster mushroom grown on 75% of PW and 25% of RS. All the data were further tested and analyzed using Statistical Tool for Agricultural Research (STAR) version 2.0.<br/>The study showed significant effect on using 75% of paper waste and 25% of rice straw in various growth parameters. Treatment 2 obtained significant results in mycelial growth observed in week 3, week 4, and week 5, whereas T4 obtained highly significant result in week 2 and week 7. Furthermore, T3 obtained significant result in terms of cap diameter while T4 obtained significant result in marketable yield. Highly significant differences in non marketable yield were noted in T1 and T2.<br/>Among the four treatments T1 obtained the highest total yield showing a highly significant result. The study concludes that using paper waste and rice straw substrate is the best way to achieved higher and better yields on oyster mushroom.
