520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc “This manual aims to supplement the lecture course in Introductory Physics and presents an integrated approach to the fundamentals of Physics for college students who are not science majors. The 14 featured experiments cover such areas as mechanics, electricity, magnetism, heat, and thermodynamics. Through these carefully selected and sequenced experiments, a thorough understanding of the concepts and principles discussed is facilitated.
The experiments are designed to suit available materials and equipment, although substitutes with similar specifications may also be used.
Each experiment lists specific objective/s followed by a short, corresponding lecture. The experimental procedure is given in a manner that students can easily follow with minimum supervision from their teacher. At the end of each experiment, students are asked to answer questions and/or solve problems. Some experiments also require students to draw graphs.
Noticeably, some of the experiments were adopted from or based on other Physics books and laboratory manuals. Hence, the proponents of this manual acknowledge with gratitude the authors of such works who had given them valuable ideas.
The proponents would greatly appreciate if errors that might have been overlooked would be brought to their attention. Criticisms are, therefore, welcome for these will guide the authors in the future revision of the manual.
The authors also extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the following people who, in one way or another, helped in the realization of this manual: Mr. Averell S. Laquindanum, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Ms. Menela G. Seng, Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Josephine D. Yabut, Dean of the College of Education, and Ms. Rochelle F. Gomez, Physics Laboratory Custodian.” - MRS. PHEBE P. MENDOZA, MRS. ALMA B. PUNZALAN, ENGR. MARIA CRISTINA A. SICAT
