This study dealt with the effects of digital storytelling in pupil engagement in the modular distance learning among the Kindergarten pupils in Diego T. Ortiz Elementary School.
The study utilized descriptive method of research. Descriptive statistics and Spearman Correlation Test were used to analyze the data.
With regard to the methodologies in integrating engagement in Kindergarten in storytelling, most of the parents rated general methodologies as always with overall mean of 3.34 weighted mean. Respondents revealed that the storytelling has an effect on social media aspect of Kindergarten pupils gaining 3.39 overall mean and interpreted as always. With regard to the elements of stories, it obtained 3.75 overall mean and interpreted as always. It was found out that all of the elements of a story captured the engagement of the Kindergarten such as language used, images, color, and fonts.
It was recommended that parents of the Kindergarten pupils must collaborate with the teachers through peer mentoring activities in order for the parents to adapt the different strategies in storytelling as can be suggested by the teachers. That the teachers must prepare different modalities of storytelling either be reading materials or digital stories so children may be able to choose which is suitable among them. That the Department of Education must exhibit encouragement for the teachers to provide additional resources in storytelling which may be done through flipbook that children used to enjoy.
