“The first edition of this book has been used successfully by many schools in Metro Manila as well as schools all over the Philippines. Although the first edition has been very effective, changes were designed to make this book more relevant to the times.
An improved organization of topics has been implemented in the second edition. In the third edition, substantial materials on probability and inferential statistics were included. These topics are fundamental principle of counting, permutation and combination, laws on probability, normal distribution, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance and chi-squared distributions. These topics will help students with their researches.
New exercises with relevant applications have been included into the exercise sets to give the text a more applied flavor.
The authors are grateful to our colleagues in the academe for their constructive criticisms and suggestions. We also wish to thank the marketing staff of the National Book Store for their splendid cooperation and support.” - THE AUTHORS
