"Events are formal or informal meetings or occasions. Conferences, trade shows, seminars, corporate off-sites and executive meetings, company parties, and product launch press conferences and parties are examples of business events. Personal events may include anniversary parties, baby showers, beach parties, wedding parties, birthday parties, religious festivities, or new-year parties. Event management refers to planning, organizing, and managing the multiple activities or tasks that are an essential part of the events. These include taking care of the budget, scheduling the dates for events, selecting and booking the event site, managing transport, acquiring required permits, and arranging for speakers and alternate speakers. It also involves arranging decor, making adequate provisions for security, arranging for catering, and ensuring that emergency plans can be executed in case of any emergencies.
