Closing remarks - Bayani S. Lomotan.
"Climate and weather are among the most critical determinants in agricultural production. High agricultural productivity depends on the confluence of favorable climate, soil factors, suitable crops, and appropriate cultural practices.
It is, therefore, timely that researchers in agrometeorology have combined their expertise to present the various applications of agrometeorology to productivity such as the forecasting of pest and disease occurrence, validation of data for agro-technology transfer, and crop yield assessments based on agrometeorological techniques.
This seminar-workshop affords the opportunity for agrometeorological researchers to draw up recommendations for strategies which will result in a more coordinated effort in the collection and standardization of weather and climate information for more effective utilization in optimizing agricultural production."
