Prof. Milagros M. Ramos has left the academe and Prof. Ceferino A. Zaide, Jr. is presently residing in the United States. Hence, they were not able to join the group of authors in revising this new edition.
This new edition makes no pretense at being an exhaustive chronicle of the issues taken up. One semester is too short a period to take up the multitude of issues and social problems that demand attention. It is left to the initiative and ability of the teacher to encourage the student and stimulate their interest to continue the study of social issues beyond the confines of the classroom.
